On Wednesday 22nd Nov we launch our new campaign #UseMyPhone in support of National White Ribbon Day (link to their website if poss White Ribbon Day 2023 — White Ribbon UK) We know that victims of DA will often have their phones monitored, checked, tracked, smashed and taken away so have no safe way of making a call for help, so our campaign is about offering a safe phone and safe space to use it. #UseMyPhone gives victims a safe opportunity to call the National Domestic Abuse Help Line number for advice and support. Our aim is to get as many shops, business, public spaces etc to display our poster in their windows to show they are a safe space in which to use their phone and call for advice and support from the National Domestic Violence Help Line. We are also encouraging members of the public to get involved, by taking a pic of themselves holding #UseMyPhone just simply written on a piece of paper, sharing that image on social media, telling people what its about and that they are happy to let a victim use their phone to call. Tag Compassion into the posts and get the hashtag trending!
We had a great day in Sudbury Town Centre on Wednesday 22nd November launching our campaign and the support from local businesses was fantastic! If you take a walk through the town you will see lots of our posters in the windows – here are some pictures of the many supporters we met throughout the day!
